#the100dayproject : handmade card 65/100-2 : you are a super star friend

happy thanksgiving to all of you friends! i hope that you've been able to enjoy a wonderful day with the things that make you happy - whether it's food or family, facetime or alone time! our day here in the w2 house was a little quieter than usual, but spent together - making loads of delicious food and laughing together, being grateful for all we have.
speaking of having, today i have another handmade card that was inspired by this one i made the other day. i am loving this stamp set and finding myself reaching for it a ton! the inspiration wheel landed on color swatch and luckily for me, the result was one i could incorporate into this card i've had in mind.
this is the swatch book i've referenced many times and was created with a variety of inks from papertrey ink. since i had such good luck with the inks from pinkfresh studio, i decided to use inks that were similar in color to those in the swatch. i think they turned out great!
like the be happy card from the other day, i love the way the words and the circular elements combine to complete a sentiment. i was able to use all the colors from the swatch - three shades of pink, aqua and orange, along with some black.
"you are a super star friend" is the complete sentiment on this bright white card front and i just love the details! i added a trio of black circles, mostly falling off the edges of the card front for additional detail. a smattering of small pink stars add movement to the design as well.
those black circles that fall off the card edges are some of my favorite details - i just love the texture of them and the fact they aren't perfectly symmetrical and round. i think that the colors used today are bright and happy and will surely make the recipient of this card smile! great friends are good to have. not only today, but everyday it's good to reflect on how grateful we are to have such awesome people in our lives!
i love the way this card design works and since i'm loving this stamp set so much, you can bet that you'll see a few more cards in a similar style. i think it would be a great little set that you could gift to a friend or coworker for the holidays. or, keep them for yourself and share some happy mail!
i'm thankful for all of you and the support you show my small business. i couldn't do it without you - so thank you!
