#the100dayproject : handmade card 21/100-2 : inflate & celebrate
Share
i was so pumped when today's spin on the inspiration wheel landed on pattern play again! i've been wanting to re-make a card that's always been a popular seller and it works best with patterned paper.
as an added bonus, i was able to use some scraps from yesterday's cards to add details to today's cards! once again i reached for a 6x6 paper pad from doodlebug, this time a birthday-themed collection.
there are three different varieties of this card, each one with a different colored balloon; blue, green and yellow. each card features three strips of paper, patterned in birthday images including birthday text, presents and streamer-like stripes. the patterns all include colors like orange, yellow, green, blue, grey and white.
a small orange banner is near the bottom left corner of the card and hosts the stamped sentiment "inflate & celebrate" in black ink. the strip is angled pointing towards the balloon. each balloon is tied to the front flap of the card with grey and white striped baker's twine. the twine is visible on the inside when the card is open.
this card style is something different than any i've ever seen and i love making them! i like to offer a variety of colored themes and balloons - which can be untied and actually blown up!
just to ensure that the recipient knows it's designed to celebrate a birthday, the inside of this card also features a coordinating stamped sentiment.
i think birthdays are one type of celebration when cards are a necessity and i think they should be interactive or fun whenever possible. that's one of my goals to help spread more happiness with a wide variety of cards to shop from.
which is your favorite? what color schemes would you like to see these cards in?
i'll be back tomorrow with another card for #the100dayproject as well as a few other updates!
