it's the weekend! woot woot!
this morning was spent getting quite a few things accomplished and i'm really looking forward to some serious crafty time tomorrow [along with some football!] i had three separate orders of craft supplies arrive today and i cannot wait to share so many new ideas and projects! i busted out a few products from one of the new boxes to create today's card.
i am seriously digging this color combo for the upcoming holidays - i know it's early but i can't even wait! i am all about sharing joy in as many ways as i can this year. but back to the color scheme - i think sometimes the untraditional colors are more exciting than the classic solid red and greens.
selecting three different patterns from one of the paper pads, i used a triangle punch to cut them out to form tree shapes. the green words on a white background is full of christmas text, triangles on a white background and then multi-colored stripes.
i die-cut a banner shape from pink cardstock that matched one of the colors in the patterned paper. it has a very subtle stitched detail around the edges, which i love. using a green ink that coordinates with the card base, i stamped the sentiment "merry and bright" - i love the way the font is scripty and looks hand written.
the inspiration wheel landed on 3d element so i decided to raise two of the three triangles with foam adhesive. initially i was set on the adhesive, but after making one tree, i didn't like that the white was visible from the sides, so i decided to cut smaller tree shapes from green fun foam and use them to raise up with trees. they look so good!
as i mentioned above, i know it's super early for holiday cards, but man is this one adorable. i'm kind of in love with the way it turned out! i'll be adding it to the shop tomorrow! this morning i managed to tackle a bunch of things i needed to, so i'm really excited to create! i'll also share the card i made for the wedding today!
18 cards down, 82 to go! woot woot!
