do you ever hear a song that speaks to you on a deep level and it often comes into your head at the most random of times?
that's what happened to me today with this song, "dream big" by ryan shupe and the rubberband. i am not sure when i first heard it [it's kind of old] but it just makes me smile when i hear it.
i was thinking of card ideas and i wanted to incorporate part of the message from the song along with a new background. i used the cloud stencil from lawn fawn and a variety of distress inks. i'm not entirely sure i'm using the stencil the right way, but i'm pleased with the results.
i started with darker blues near the top and faded down into purple, pink, orange, yellow, grey and off white. i was imagining how the clouds look when there's a gorgeous sunset - even though it's been a minute since i've seen one. [or so it feels - i'm typically at work when the sun is setting.]
the word "dreams" is in one of my favorite scripty fonts and i decided to highlight it with the black gel pen for a little added shine.
before adding a few iridescent star flat sequins, i drew a little glitter pen onto my craft mat and spritzed it with water. i then used a paintbrush to flick the sparkle water onto the background - the distress ink reacts to water so there's a great subtle sparkle with ink splotches. it's a little hard to photograph but looks so cool in real life.
i think that this could be sent via snail mail for a variety of reasons - or just as inspiration. there's just something about the colors and softness along with the sentiment that make me so happy.
tomorrow is the last day of this challenge and i can't wait to share all 100 cards with you in a couple fun ways. it's been amazing and i still have so many ideas to try out.
for now - i hope all your dreams come true!
