hey friends!
for the second day in a row the inspiration wheel landed on ink blending! i decided to combine it with a stencil today [actually two] in order to create a partial background in the center of the card.
four shades of distress ink [hickory smoke, chipped sapphire, wilted violet, & blueprint sketch] are layered together to create my version of a dark and stormy night. i used the cloud stencil from lawn fawn and a circle stencil from mft. i'm a big fan of the way that each of these cards turned out slightly different because of the blending.
a trio of black bats are flying in from the upper left corner and help create a visual triangle with the smiling ghost and the sentiment, "hey ghoul". the ghost is elevated off of the card base with the use of foam tape for added dimension.
the card base is a deep purple, but the inside features a grey panel so your message will be visible to your recipient. this card can be used as a general hello style card or it would be excellent as a halloween card too.
the photos don't do the blending on this card justice - it's so smooth and transitional in real life. plus, the smiling ghost - i mean come on, he's adorable!
this card is already available in my online shop here.
tomorrow i'll be sharing a hint at something i've never done before and i'm pretty jazzed about it. i hope you'll come back to check it out!
