today's card had great potential until it didn't work, haha! i was attempting to do a technique with a transfer gel and foil, but i wasn't happy with the way that the foil transferred.
instead, i decided to make a quick and simple fourth of july card. this isn't a type of card that i normally make, but last year i sold a boatload of them, which i thought was interesting.
i paired several patterned papers with some sparkly silver glitter paper and a clear and concise sentiment.
the card base is bright white and the lowest stripe of patterned paper is red, white, blue and grey stripes, which i put on an angle. above that is a narrower strip of blue paper with tiny white stars. on top of that is an even narrower strip of silver glitter goodness.
the sentiment reads "happy 4th of july" in black ink and is in one of my favorite fonts - slightly giving the handwritten feel to it.
i really like the simplicity of this card, but also the angle of the stripes combined with the angle of the strips of paper. quick and easy to replicate, but i like the message. there's no wrong reason to send mail and america's birthday is a great reason!
i have a great idea for tomorrow's card, but first i need to find room on my desk. it's been a hot minute since i did a thorough clean up, sort and purge so that's first on my saturday agenda. i hope you get to spend some time doing whatever makes your heart happy!
