as has happened many a time during this challenge, today's card did not exactly go as planned.
i found out some news regarding a friend and it hit me pretty hard, then i got home from work super late and then - our pupper wasn't feeling well.
however, i still busted out a card - only one today - but i'm so happy with the way that it turned out and i think i'll eventually make a few more!
i started with a white panel and i dry embossed it, purposely on a diagonal with a hexagon pattern. then i stamped a few small hexagons in neon pink. i also spritzed silver ink all over the panel for a subtle detail.
i die-cut a large hexagon and stamped just half of it with the same neon pink ink. using black ink i stamped "many thanks" slightly off center and then inked the edges of the large hexagon. i adhered it on an angle coordinating with the background using foam tape for added dimension. everything was mounted on a black card base.
i just love the dimension of the embossing and theoretically i could have used either side of the panel, but i liked this side where it looks like the hexagons are lower than the borders. the pink ink is super neon and bright and i'm digging the limited use of color. the silver flecks are just subtle enough that they don't take away from the rest of the design.
i think this design could be altered with any type of sentiment or pattern, but i have a thing for hexagons. even though it's only a one of a kind card i think for sure i'll be making more.
today marks 70 days down with only 30 to go! woot woot!
