i wanted to enjoy the sunny day today and was motivated by some bright colors, so i decided to use a new product from the greetery.
it's a stencil set that is perfectly designed to be used together to achieve a two-toned look within the design. holy amazeballs, it's so well thought out and designed, and so easy to use! these cards came together quickly, which is always something i appreciate.
after blending eight colors on four stencils to create the pinwheel pattern, i added quite the smattering of clear sequins in two sizes. i wasn't a huge fan of the empty middle circle on the pinwheels and thought that they needed some detail.
being bright and cheery, i thought that a "thinking of you" sentiment would be perfect to accent this card. who doesn't need a dose of happy in the mail?
the sentiment is stamped in my favorite black ink and is also one of my very favorite fonts as well. i have friends who can letter like this naturally and i'm so jealous - it's definitely something that i want to work on.
on the right side of the card front is a strip of black with tiny white stripes. this is actually washi tape! i knew that the card needed something on that right side, so i adhered it directly to the white card base, and then layered the panel with the sentiment and pinwheels over top of it - with foam tape. i tend to forget how very versatile washi tape is and everytime i use it, i'm amazed.
i'll be adding this card to the shop within the next day or so - i've got a boatload of cards and items that i'm loading in. i have an extra day off of work this week and i have a bunch of things i'm trying to knock of my [seemingly never ending] to-do list!
here's hoping that your week is going well - i'm thinking of you!
