#the100dayproject - 45/100

today's card came together with the help of friends who suggested that i make a card including the following details:

- birthday

- dark blue

- rhinos

- stripes

okay...that was a challenge, but one that i enjoyed. these cards took forever to make, but mostly because i die-cut so many elements and hand colored nearly every detail.

the rhinos are colored with my favorite type of markers - prismacolor! they blend so seamlessly and i just really like them. i also think that i need to add to my collection so that i have more of a variety. sounds legit, right? they're also elevated off of the card base with foam tape, because why not?!

these stamps and dies are relatively new to me and i think they're just so adorable. i included a few sprigs of green grass which also matches the background green color. the blue panel [featuring those stripes that were "required"] has a fun & quirky triangular stripe which i filled in with a lime green color.

i rounded the corners of the card to match and coordinate with the blue panel. "celebrate" is stamped at the bottom of the card front in crisp black ink.

one of my side projects today was to organize all my washi tapes in roygbiv order and i rediscovered this bright orange, gold and coral colored tape and thought that it would be a good compliment to the blue on this card. plus it also has stripes and is just super fun.

you might be thinking that the celebrate sentiment doesn't necessarily scream birthday card - and you would be right - except for the fact that i continued the message on the inside!

i used a scripty font to coordinate with the font on the front, and it's stamped in black ink also.

to match the brightness of the washi tape, i'm including a bright coral envelope. the recipient will be so excited to open this card - and even more so when they see the rhinos, stripes and bright colors!

card 45 is another birthday card and i'm definitely thinking i need to add a few more to my stash, so stay tuned over the next few weeks!
