#the100dayproject : 41/100

today i wanted to bust out a nice and easy card so i used one of my favorite techniques - repetition! i'm always a fan of blues, browns and yellows together so i paired them up on this clean + simple card.

i began by die-cutting a strip with faux stitching from each of the five colors of cardstock. then, i stamped the same sentiment [just a note] on each of the strips with the same color ink. to make the color show up a little bit more intensely, i double-stamped most of them.

then i staggered them on top of one another on a yellow card base. for added detail, on the second blue strip from the bottom i heat embossed the sentiment. this added a subtle layer of detail and a slight shine.

i love the fact that this card really only has two elements - one sentiment and one die-cut and it's just lovely. it can be used for any occasion, another favorite little detail of mine. plus, that font? love it.

i think that this is a design that could easily be duplicated with nearly any color combination and any sentiment. it just makes me happy!

this upcoming week will for sure include a good amount of creative time as well as some productive work time. i'll be adding lots of items and details to the website and shop - and i'm getting closer to being 50% through this challenge! woot woot!
