#the100dayproject : 3/100-2

hey friends!

day three on the wheel led me to the theme/category of one layer card! sometimes i struggle with these so i knew i had to plan it out. [luckily for me, i decided to work on the card before i headed to work for the night so i had more time than i usually give myself!]

since i'm on a seasonal kick, i decided to roll with the feeling of the week and use some fall leaves on a thank you card.

this stamp set from sunny studios stamps is one of my favorites - i picked it up last year and i have loved using it every time i pull it out. the leaves offer a two-tone effect when layered and i think it looks so great.

starting with the leaves on the top right of the card front, i wanted to have them change color as they fell down the card. i started with a light red which almost looks pink and moved to red, golden orange, orange, greens, purple and brown. these leaves look so cool in real life - i promise the photos don't do them justice!

the two-tone look is subtle, but it's there. i used my pinkfresh studios inks for these leaves and i just love how crisp and bold they are. they layer beautifully! the sentiment is stamped in dark brown ink and i think this card would be great as a thank you for anything or anyone. it's so fitting for this time of year.

the base of the card is a tan-oatmeal color which has a warmer feeling than the stark white i typically gravitate towards. overall, i'm really pleased with the way that it came together and i think it's an awesome one layer card. it's got more depth than some other simpler styles i've made in the past.

it's already available in my online shop here. i have some big goals and plans for this weekend, including two more cards so i hope you'll stop back to check them out - and see what else i'm up to.

have a wonderful fall-filled weekend!
