i had an idea for today's card in my mind when i woke up this morning. sometime last year i made a card in a similar style, but i wanted this one to have a different element.
i know you're probably thinking it looks like just another card with no stamping, but you would be wrong!
i used a set of alphabet die-cuts that are new to me from pinkfresh studio to cut out the letters spelling "hey" - i just love the little detail in each letter and think that there are so many options for how these could be used.
the beautiful rainbow striped paper is from one of my favorite mini paper pads from lawn fawn. their collections are always so bright and cheerful! plus, add in a little strip of glittery goodness [that doesn't come off!] and you're golden.
upon the suggestion from laura, i added in some hand-drawn thin black lines. i feel like it helps tie in the bold black of the letters against a wall of white, sprinkled with color.
side note - i was having a rough day the other day about wondering if making cards even makes a difference and was a little bummed about not being able to participate in so many shows this summer, which is something that i both enjoy doing and makes me a good amount of money. my good old bestie was right there to point out that my cards have the ability to make someone smile and make someone's day a little bit brighter. that helped to change my perspective quite a bit and so i channeled her while adding my favorite detail on this card:
that's the inside of the card and it's purposely stamped on an angle to coordinate with the angle on the front of the card. remember before when i said there was stamping? i wouldn't lie! it's just hidden [in plain sight] on the inside of this card.
i think anyone and everyone would appreciate a little splash of color and happiness with this message inside, along with a handwritten note from you!
i'll be adding it to my shop within the next few days, along with a handful of other cards i've been making!
