yesterday's experimentation with stencils led to some awesome inspiration for my creative time today!
i've had in my mind that i wanted to create a few sets that would be ideal as gifts for mother's day - but also great anytime, for nearly anyone. i wanted them to have elements in common but not all the exact same.
i had so much fun with this idea! i was able to create three different sets of three cards each and they'll be listed tomorrow. [we've been having internet issues all day so i haven't been able to add items - so frustrating - but i was able to spend this time creating instead.]
here's one card - consider it a sneak peek:
i'll provide more details on all the cards and will probably include a separate blog post to share some extra photos, so today i'm just focusing on this one card.
i began by ink blending a background with distress ink and a stencil, focusing a heavier hand in one area so the color would be more intense. then, i die-cut the panel with one of my go-to dies, featuring a faux-stitched border. i stamped the sentiment in crisp black ink and adhered a smattering of iridescent sequins for a little splash of bling.
the color ink that i used for the background matches the color of the card base - so while the entire card only has three colors, it looks super sharp. plus, that sentiment is so sassy and fun! it reads "i really miss you, but probably not as much as you miss me because i'm totally awesome."
i can't wait to share the other 8 cards i created and i can't wait to add them to the shop even more! lots of good stuff coming tomorrow!
