#the100dayproject : 2022 : 27/100 - hey [bananas]
Share
day 27 is a one of a kind card and i decided to do a couple things differently. i'm using a panel that was originally from one of my project life kits as the background. i just adore the banana pattern! i stacked some die-cuts and used fun foam - a technique i don't do nearly often enough!
i first die-cut the word 'hey' out of the banana panel and adhered it to a brown card base. then i cut the same word out of yellow and brown fun foam. i stacked the die-cuts together and put the original piece back on top. the word blends in, but when you see it from the side you can see all the dimension!
it's so cool in real life - it's somewhat squishy to touch [due to the foam] and it just looks awesome. i don't think that photos do it justice.
i purposely left the opening of the letter e empty so that the brown card base shows through. i wanted to be able to see that there was something on the card front since the die-cut word really does blend in.
when making one of a kind cards i really enjoy the process - i like to experiment with new, often different kinds of techniques. it's a great opportunity to try color combinations because the results are almost instant and i know whether or not i'll like the way the final result ends up. plus, i like offering cards that nobody else will have. even though most of the time i make a limited number of cards to begin with, you can't argue with the one of a kind!
27 days down and 73 more to go!
