#the100dayproject : 2022 : 23/100 - rainbow paws

day 23 brings with it one of the hardest cards to send & to receive : pet sympathy
when we unexpectedly lost our pupper hercules early last year, one thing that helped was knowing how much people cared, as well as knowing how much joy he brought to their lives too. so many stories were shared in the cards we received. we believe he's over the rainbow bridge just waiting for us and i decided to use that feeling for today's card.
beginning with a white panel, i used a stencil from my favorite things and a selection of distress inks to blend a rainbow of colors cascading down the panel. i tried to make sure that each color was on two paws, moving in a diagonal pattern. between the paws i added the sentiment from a newer stamp set and it reads: "no greater companion, no better friend. i'm so sorry for your loss."
i do have to admit that i really am pleased with the way that the blending of the colors turned out - i like when i can use just a few colors and it turns into even more based on the way they blend together.
this card would work for cats or dogs - or really any animal that has paws. it's never easy to lose a four legged friend; they truly are members of our family.
sympathy cards are the most difficult cards for me to create because i always want to make things bright and colorful and that's not always acceptable when it comes to these types of cards. for this one at least it's a little fitting.
as for today, 23 days down and 77 left to go.
