#the100dayproject : 2022 : 21/100 - awesome at any age

day 21, woot woot!
today's spin on the inspiration wheel landed on sketch and so i referenced one [sketch] from an older card i've made in the past. i decided to bust out the neon inks because who doesn't need a splash of neon in their lives?!
beginning with a white panel, i added a handful of circles in three neon colors; pink, orange and yellow. for the most part, they were stamped vertically in a row alongside the right side of the card panel. i selected a variety of circular images and stamped them in black ink, overlapping the neon circles.
some of the black circles were slightly off-set but i love the way they look layered with the neon colors. i stamped the sentiment "awesome at any age" in black ink on a small white rectangular piece of cardstock. before adhering it to the card base with foam tape for dimension, i inked the edges with black ink to help it stand out. a smattering of clear sequins creates a visual triangle around the card front.
on the inside, i added a white panel the same size as the panel on the front, but included the stamped sentiment, "happy birthday" in black ink.
there's still plenty of room for a personal message on the inside of the card beneath the stamped sentiment. i don't always include an interior sentiment, but when i do i like to make sure that it's not directly in the middle of the card.
the design of this handmade birthday card is clean and simple, yet has a good bit of detail and that fabulous splash of color. it's one of my favorites so far in this project. and as i mentioned in the very beginning, i needed to seriously stock up on birthday cards, so it's doing double duty!
21 days down, 79 to go!
