#the100dayproject : 2022 : 16/100 - thinking of you

not only does the card for today [day 16] fit into #the100dayproject, but it also is part of an online movement to fill the instagram world with images in shades of blue and yellow in support of ukraine. it's been amazing to see so many awesome cards - i encourage you to check out the hashtag #cardsforukraine to see what i mean. 

the topic for today was stenciled so i went with a technique that is always a good one - a little tone on tone action. i began with a white panel that had been run through my die cut machine to add those awesome stitches around the perimeter. i masked off the top half and began blending the bottom portion with yellow ink, making sure to not get too dark. then i masked off the bottom and inked the top portion in blue. once this was complete, i took out my stencil and layered it on top of the panel before using the same colors of ink to blend a little darker over the top. 

i die-cut a small circle that also had those stitch marks and stamped the sentiment "thinking of you" in black ink near the center. i blended some yellow and blue ink around the edges of the circle to coordinate with the card base. i raised the circle off of the card base with foam tape for some added dimension. everything was mounted onto a grey card panel in the mini slimline size - my new favorite!

i'm really pleased with the way that this card turned out and i love when i can create something that coordinates with a movement or project that has significant meaning. this world is a crazy place and i just want to share a little kindness in whatever way i can.
