#the100dayproject : handmade card 19/100-2 : hi. hey. hello.

and just like that, it's the end of the weekend!
the wedding last night was awesome and i'm so happy for my friend. i'll be sharing the card i made for her tomorrow for an updated #mailitmonday post, even though i *technically* didn't mail it.
today's spin on the inspiration wheel landed on color swatch, so i busted out the book i made for round one of #the100dayproject. i used siri on my phone who helped to select a number between 100-200 [167] and i pulled the corresponding ink colors. after scheming up a design in my head for a bit, i decided to create a 1-layer card and to use a new stamp set that arrived this weekend.
beginning with a white card base, i used an older stamp set with a jumble of text. i've always liked this stamp and it reminds me of what it would look like if you saw the written sounds the teacher from charlie brown makes. i opted to use the inks in order of the swatch selection, so on the bottom of the card is the enchanted evening ink.
then comes the new stamp from reverse confetti. [i also have to give them a major shoutout - i ordered these stamps [along with some others you'll see soon!] on thursday and they shipped the same day and were in my hands yesterday! they came from texas and i'm a sucker for quick turn-around-time, so thanks rc!] i stamped the sentiment "hi. hey. hello." in the scarlet jewel ink and then repeated the alphabet jumble in the remaining three colors; berry sorbet, melon berry and summer sunrise.
i staggered the alphabet text each time that i stamped it because while i wanted it to be clean and simple, i didn't want to just have one big block of text. to help your eye move around the card front, i added three dots of tonic's nuvo dots in the crystal color. when they are dry, they'll be crystal clear with just a slight bit of dimension but a whole lot of shine. these are the same product [just a different color] that i used on this card the other day. i seem to forget that i have them, but i just love the detail they provide!
to add in a fun little surprise, i included a stamped sentiment on the inside of the card. using the same color ink [scarlet jewel] and utilizing the same placement as the sentiment on the front of the card, i added "have a great day" to the inside! i think it's unexpected, but i just love the way it turned out.
this is definitely a simpler type of card, but sometimes i think what is written on the inside is more important than what the outside looks like. plus, saying hey is always a good idea! the envelope that's included is very similar in color to the ink used on the main sentiments. it'll be a pop of color in the mail that anyone would appreciate.
i'll be finishing up listing a handful of cards early this week - lots of time this weekend was spent housekeeping some of the behind-the-scenes work on the website as well as working on some organizational projects that i'll be sharing soon.
19 days down, 81 to go. this is bound to be a great week full of creative adventures!
