mail it monday #24
Share
welp it's the third monday of #quarantine2020 and while i wasn't able to create as much last week as i had hoped to, i did make + mail a couple cards out!
i picked up this stamp set recently after seeing so many incredible samples with it. early last week i had a customer email me telling me that they're enjoying getting to know me [& my process] a little better via my march meet the maker posts. the email came on a day when i really needed it and i decided to share that happiness back to them with a handmade card.
i used some simple colors to create a small rainbow and i loved the tiny plus signs designed to be a cloud.
i felt like the rainbow oozed love so i added in three small black hearts. the sentiment "just a note" is added to the right side to even out the design. a bright aqua envelope made this happy mail complete!
i made two cards with the basic rainbow design and i used the second one as a birthday card for one of my crafty friend's kiddos who was celebrating her 5th birthday! i personalized it with her name, just for fun.
my friend kate has purchased my color me cards on more than one occasion for julia, so i decided to include a little color me action in with her birthday card. i used a masking technique and stamped a plethora of animals, creating a full scene for her to fill in.
i was happy to share a little happiness and am looking forward to sending even more mail this week. in case you need a few reasons to send some of your own, check out these upcoming non-traditional holidays:
march 31 - national crayon day
april 1 - national walking day
april 2 - national peanut butter and jelly day
april 3 - national find a rainbow day
april 4 - national handmade day
april 5 - gold star spouses day
april 6 - national caramel popcorn day
while so many people are practicing safe social distancing, i encourage you to reach out in any way that you can, but especially with handmade mail. it's an easy, inexpensive way to let others know you care and are thinking about them without leaving your house! two great organizations to check out on instagram are @bringsmilestoseniors as well as @love4theelderly - both are doing great work to share happiness.
