Mail It Monday #17

a few weeks ago i was able to lead a small group of women with some card making techniques and i made a few samples for them. the first card i'm featuring today was inspired by one of my sample cards.
while this card is super simple in design, i'm really digging the way it came together. i'm a huge fan of black and white designs and this patterned paper had a great floral design, while being somewhat abstract.
i cut a section of the patterned paper so that it wasn't too overwhelming and adhered it to the right side of a white card base. the black stripe that runs vertically across the card front is from a great mini 6x6 paper pad - it has a great shine and reflection to it.
i stamped the sentiment with black ink and then added clear embossing powder. after melting the powder with my heat tool, it left a great shine, slightly elevated off of the card base.
i think one of my favorite kind of cards to send are those that simply let the recipient know i'm thinking of them. no special holiday or rhyme or reason. the unexpected ones are my favorite.
in addition to the above card, i also sort of hand delivered a card this past week in celebration of national thank a mail carrier day, along with a small gift. i shared details on my instagram account, but here's a photo of the card i included:
